As-salamu alaykum
Bayt Al Qaim Islamic Centre (BAQIC) hosted the RSE event in Feb 19 with Dr Kate Godfrey-Fawcett. Our Sunni brothers approached us & in unity we had a successful event at the HQ banqueting hall with over 800 people Alhumdullilah. This was the catalyst in building momentum to enable Council of mosques (CFM) in cohort with BFD council to create a task force. After numerous meetings inclusive of scholars of varying faiths, an RSE policy toolkit was devised, which is available on schools online. School have access to this.
The policy gives guidelines & takes into account protected characteristics such as faith, age appropriateness, sensitivity etc. Parent consultation is a must & thus humbly request you to be engaged with your respective schools.
Ultimately it's for you as parents to be engaged with schools in defining that policy and the deliverability especially on 2 points:
1. External lobbies or training providers
2. Resources used.
RSE starts Sep 2020. Some schools may decide to start early. Should you need any advice, please do not hesitate to contact us.
May Allah SWT protect you & our beloved children & keep us all on the path of sirat-ul-mustaqeem.
Please keep Sister Dr Kate Godfrey-Fawcett in your duas who has sacrificed much in the way of Allah SWT making us all aware of this hideous agenda. It is about damage limitation now to our kids!
Jazakhalla khair.
